for everyone
I’ve never been too obsessed with the thing call Hat. It seems for me, that hat it’s just a thing that function to cover our head from rain and light, period. But now, my fashionese adventure has opened my eyes to the beauty of a hat. Let just say that now I’m looking for the cocktail Hepburn-esque black beret and a flat black fedora. I like the beret from urban outfitters (www.urbanoutfitters.com). Then again, It’ll be the effortless final touches for the ‘dress-like-there’s-no-tomorrow’ kinda gig, here in Jakarta, of course.

I’ve once went to party that listed the dress code with “pick your own era”. I love the 50’s and 60’s style. It was classic yet stylish at the same time. Since I had no hat at that time, I chose to wear a hairpiece that quite resembled that era. When I get to the party, I met many women coming dressed up with their best hats. They looked so chic and sophisticated.

Well, they might still look ‘save’ and not as quirky or beautifully weird as Isabella Blow-the fashion icon who discovered the magnificent talent of Phillip Treacy, but since we’re talking about the Jakarta fashion scene, neither London nor Paris, this condition is totally forgivable. Isabella Blow herself was a British fashion editor who’s well known for “the woman of many hats”. She once appeared in the over the top pink acrylic saucer that placed magically in her forehead. Well it’s soo, hmhmm, kinky stylish, not like I’m gonna wear the same hat like her, but let’s just embrace her spirit for being different. At least she’d constantly showed that hat, could be more than just a head cover, it’d show who you really are. Let’s browse baby..
