.:Not your average playground:.
I’ve never been too obsessed with the thing call Hat. It seems for me, that hat it’s just a thing that function to cover our head from rain and light, period. But now, my fashionese adventure has opened my eyes to the beauty of a hat. Let just say that now I’m looking for the cocktail Hepburn-esque black beret and a flat black fedora. I like the beret from urban outfitters (www.urbanoutfitters.com). Then again, It’ll be the effortless final touches for the ‘dress-like-there’s-no-tomorrow’ kinda gig, here in Jakarta, of course.
I’ve once went to party that listed the dress code with “pick your own era”. I love the 50’s and 60’s style. It was classic yet stylish at the same time. Since I had no hat at that time, I chose to wear a hairpiece that quite resembled that era. When I get to the party, I met many women coming dressed up with their best hats. They looked so chic and sophisticated.
Well, they might still look ‘save’ and not as quirky or beautifully weird as Isabella Blow-the fashion icon who discovered the magnificent talent of Phillip Treacy, but since we’re talking about the Jakarta fashion scene, neither London nor Paris, this condition is totally forgivable. Isabella Blow herself was a British fashion editor who’s well known for “the woman of many hats”. She once appeared in the over the top pink acrylic saucer that placed magically in her forehead. Well it’s soo, hmhmm, kinky stylish, not like I’m gonna wear the same hat like her, but let’s just embrace her spirit for being different. At least she’d constantly showed that hat, could be more than just a head cover, it’d show who you really are. Let’s browse baby..
I was thought that the hardest event that I’m gonna make is my own wedding ceremony, but it turned out that I’ve found something else: My cats’. That might sound ridiculous, but it’s true. I have to arrange my own cat marriage. Well, it’s not like human kinda marriage. I just have to fulfill some needs first.
The fulfillment start from finding the female cat, make sure that she’s old enough to get married (she doesn’t have to be like at least 19 years old like Indonesian woman has). First is “The Search”. I’ve to get her. Yes, I’ve got the cat now. She’s my good friend’s pet. Her name: “Inul”, yeah just like the famous dangdut singer. Apparently, she (I refer to the cat, of course) acts like the singer. She’s so active, can’t stop moving, and a true seeker of attention. See, so similar!
Next, is the process called ”the arrangement”. I have to find the way and the time to introduce the to cats to each other. This process is kinda hard to cos I have to find the perfect time for the owner of those pets to meet. I mean, the cats, hello, all they have to do is just given up themselves to be put on their boxes so that they could be carried away. After many phone calls and text messages, now me, my mom, my friends and her mom were having the time to meet. It was in such a sunny Sunday and their crib in southern Jakarta.
On our journey to the place, my mom started to talk about the weirdest thing. Her best friend, which turn out to be a cat lover as well, told my mom that isn’t easy to pair two cats in a matrimony, because just like human being, there are also TYPE of cats based on their personality, so not all cats match to each other. According to her, there is an active, shy, angry to womanizer type of cat. Amazing! So therefore, we have to know our cat type in order to find to perfect match for him or her. Even there’s such thing as cat type, but me and my mom didn’t think it was considerable. We believe that as long as our cat and Inul could get along, then it’s all what we need.
Now, my cat, Donat, and Inul has tied the knot but unlike the fairy tale story, they don’t quite live happily ever after because they can’t live together. Inul should get back to her house in Sentul, while Donut to my house. But at least they already experienced one of the biggest pleasure in the life of human being.

yeay.. another one from the series "are you stylish enough?".. before read the details below, why don't you ask yourself, when was the last time you dressed up? and where?
dari kamus yang saya baca, Dresses up sendiri artinya adalah dress in smart or formal clothes, dress in special costume for fun or to be part of an entertainment. Dressed up.
The point is, term "dressed up" yang dipakainya, bagi saya belum termasuk dressed up. Di kota-kota diatas, people are dressing up like they want to every single time.
Kembali ke judul, lantas dimana kita biasanya dressed up? secara pemerintah jakarta belum mengakomodasi warganya dengan such decent space to walk, maka warganya harus mencari tempat yang memungkinkan untuk berpakaian seperti yang mereka inginkan, walaupun itu akan berarti unik atau mungkin aneh. And the winner of the place goes to..........; MALL
People already had such fashion education.
Because to be yourself in fashion doesn't mean to dressing up. So just be yourself without any doubt..
cheers!!
Huhuhu, part 3 agak lama ya keluarnya.. :D this part i'm gonna write a confession.. well it's a confession of fashion i guess.. Honestly, i could say that i'm not a mean in person, but when comes to style or fashion i could be just the opposite.. The latest crime :D, i could say, 2 days ago, i just gone to Bulungan Cup in senayan. It was the sport competition event held by SMU 70. Bawahannya, she chose green shorts trus dia pke jelly sandals bening dan plastic bando in shocking pink too. The whole outfit was SHOCKING.. yang avantgarde d hahahahaha. Ya tapi untuk umur segitu, sekali lagi dimaafkan d.. (alah kayak gw bagus aja. huhuhuhu) maaf ya.. :D Nah sekarang yang bagus ni.. i could judge a good style in general, tapi yang dimata gw bagus banget biasanya adalah gaya orang2 yang gak jauh2 dari yang, secara personal, gw emang suka gaya itu..ya somehow like the way i dressed. One style that spotted my eye adalah gaya, ada lah anak 70. She wore a white tee with blue print. The length of the tee was below the waist, and she accesories dengan kalung-kalung yang beraneka liontin. She just crashed between vintage and current necklaces . Good!! Trus dia pake jeans and white converse and finally she complete it with brown synthetic leather mango bag. huhuhuhu. When you see it, i bet you're gonna agree with me!! :D See, i could be mean right, maaf yaa.. saya hanya berusaha jujur kok huhuhu. Sometimes i dressed worst too.. Anyway, nadia saphira, kamu kemarin berpakaian bagus.. I told ya!! huhuhu. Let's get dressed anyone, proper dressed up is a most!!! (cemp) :D
Don't judge people by their shoe.. That's the thing that my friends always said to me. Especially fika!!! hehehe. Hi there!!. Yap, that's me. Mostly, I noticed people not from top to the bottom but from bottom to the top. Why? Because for me, shoe is the key. I once walked in orchard road and if my mom didn't remind me to look straight ahead, i 'll kept look down noticing people's shoe and i would have been hit somebody. Thanks mom (you know your daughter quite well :p) No matter how cool your outfit is, if you didn't combine with perfect shoe, it's not good enough. But wait, "the perfect shoe" doesn't mean expensive shoe. I'm not that branded shoe lover kind of person either. "Perfect shoe" could be just simple shoe but it matched perfectly to the outfit. For example, my dear friend marsha, she once wear an embroideried white shirt with cardigan and yellow loose skirt. For the shoe, she picked white canvas shoe that you could grab for only 30 thousand in mayestik. It's cool!! i prefer that way to somekind of girl i met in some mall who wear dior, gucci, prada shoe but they couldn't match the dress. Meanwhile, i have to admit that i'm a shoe addict. So no wonder if then noticed people also from their shoe. I could recognize people, specially boys, from their shoe. In my opinion, there are 3 kind of boys : 1. THE CONSERVATIVE TYPE : boys in this type would wear pantofel, laether sandals, sport slip sandal and anykind of wellknown comfortable shoe. And just like their shoe, boys in this type, is a conservative, he might prefer being at home. He didn't like to be the center of attention. But they're loving and caring person. 2. THE "COWOK MASA KINI" : boys in this type would wear todays shoe like adidas, puma, pony, onitzukatiger, converse, nike, rhumell, gola, le coq sport, vans. They would wear the latest shoe of the brand i've mentioned above. For them, the latest is the coolest. They would combine the shoe, with "masa kini" style, like polo shirt, stripe shirt, or unique but mostly branded t-shirt. Boys in this type are boys who like to be the center of attention, they know what the lattest trend is, they are easygoing, they prefer to hang with friends than stay at home, friendly (but sometimes picky for friends), and for them recognition from people in their community is important and neccessary. 3. THE "I DON'T CARE WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK, THIS IS ME" type: boys in this type wear todays branded shoe, BUT, they don't wear the latest. For them attitude is the most important. So since attitude is important, they also like to wear non branded but stylish and cheap kind of shoe. The point is, they mix style with attitude. So gembel converse, or dirty vans are fine for them. They like comfortability too. This kind of boys are, independent, creative, friendly but sometimes lonely person. They like to hangout with friends too, but when they think it's too much, they will do other thing, like going home. They also trend aware but they know which one is ok and which is not. Well, that's just my opinion. DO you agree with me? or do you want to add things.. Feel free to tell me. But back to the first paragraph, branded shoe is not so important. So as long as that person, boy or girl could match the outfit fit the shoe perfectly.. I'll love it. . But anyway, it's not that important to be loved by me as well, rite? huhuhuhu (=",=)
Kalau kalian (yang membaca blog ini) adalah teman yang sering atau paling tidak beberapa kali pernah bersama saya, you might have noticed that i like to see people from the top to the bottom. I know that's my habit, but i'm doing it for good purpose. I did it because i want to know how you dress. It's a form of appreciation for fashion from me. Menurut saya, people have their own way to dress. They could be experimental, conservative or neat kinda style. Buat saya itu bukan masalah. Jadi kalau gaya kamu biasa2 saja, buat saya it's fine. For me, stylish person is not the one who wears branded thing all over her/his body. I salute even more to a person who wear ordinary thing in an extraordinary kinda way. The point is, the key to be stlyish is not money, money, money, but CREATIVE, CREATIVE, CREATIVE. The key to dress up, for me, it's just like what my favourite designer, marc jacobs, says: it's all about HOW you wear, not what you wear. Not to forget ATTITUDE is also important. Like, i've seen a girl wearing just a simple white t-shirt and jeans, she combined it with just simple brown sling bag. Menurut saya, paduan itu biasa saja, tapi that girl has the attitude, jadi siapapun yang melihat pasti setuju kalau orang itu stylish enough. So, instead of dressed up, jangan lupa PERCAYA DIRI. Jadi dress as comfortable as you want to, be creative and be yourself. It's all bout YOU not everyone else...
